The husband and wife team of Javier Villatoro and Casey Carroll are co-owners of Coray Kitchen in Delmar. Casey runs the front of the house while Javier is the executive chef. Casey describes their offerings as “seasonally driven and globally inspired”. Only opened for about a year, the restaurant has received stellar reviews and was packed upon my visit there. This couple is doing a terrific job and you won’t want to miss this experience.

Mardi Gras falls on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, so we thought it would be fun to have a New Orleans celebration on our March 1st dinner at 677 Prime. We expect that Maitre Rotisseur Ken Kehn and Officier Maitre Restaurateur Jaime Ortiz will come up with some intriguing variations of traditional Louisiana fare. This should be a lot of fun and 677 never disappoints.

We have scheduled one of our popular dine-around dinners at Sadudee Restaurant in Wynantskill. This restaurant, formerly in Watervliet, serves up Thai cuisine that is terrific and budget friendly. Speaking of friendly, you won’t receive a warmer welcome anywhere than that offered by Malisa Bateman, the affable and gracious proprietor.

Although opened only recently, Ember & Cork in Schenectady has received high praise from food critics and customers alike. This is not surprising as CIA trained chef Marc Alvarez has honed his skills at Charlie Palmer’s Michelin starred Aureole, opened venues for the Danny Meyer Restaurant Group and for many years was the chef/owner of Ember Restaurant in Anguilla. He is an exacting and creative chef who butchers his own meat and purchases product from artisan providers. Be prepared to be wowed.
